Babe lash review
Babe Lash Serum
How I discovered them:
I saw my sister in San Diego for Easter, and we’re definitely cut from the same cloth so when I saw her lashes, I knew something was up. I said, “I know those are not real… is it a fiber mascara?” she said, “No! They are! I’ve been using Babe Lash!” I literally was floored and very jealous, as sisters naturally are and had to get my hands on some.
So I reached out to them, and shared part of my lash struggle with them…
My Lash Struggle
So, you may or may not know (if you follow me on IG stories), but while I was on set a few years ago, an artist used lashes and lash glue on me. I unfortunately assumed it was Duo, a safe latex surgical adhesive that you can use for lashes, and is super safe for your lash line. To remove, you simply remove the strip/individual lashes, and your lashes are still intact. Well, the artist failed to tell me she used a super water-proof glue, so when I went to remove my false lashes when I got home, I ripped out about 15 lashes each side. Needles to say, I was fuming and crying my bald little eyes out on my way to set the next day on the 405 with my own lash glue, screaming and crying, feeling my lashes would never grow back. She said I should have asked and told me the proper way o remove them was with remover… geee, thanks for telling me AFTER. Sorry, BUT if you’re using a waterproof something on a client, you should instruct them how to work with it. I’M NOT BITTER. Two years later, my lashes have finally recovered.
So after sharing my story, which was DEVASTATING, they gifted me a few products to sample. Truth be told: my lashes have completely transformed. They feel and look so much longer and thicker. I am at the point now, that I actually feel comfortable going for a night out without false lashes! I even used to wear individuals or individual clusters to auditions all the time— not anymore!
Here’s a run down of the products, how they work and what I love about them.
The Essential Growth Serum and Enhancing Conditioner
I used the Essential Growth Serum nightly and saw a difference of how my lashes looked more so after three weeks. I used it about every other night per their recommendation of every three nights, and didn’t know until after about a month, that one dip of the wand is enough for both eyelids, oops! So I prob went through it a bit quicker, but am happy with how my lashes looked regardless! This product has Biotin, which is known to help promote hair growth, and grape seed and chamomile extract, which is known to help condition lashes.
I started alternating with the Enhancing Conditioner, which is a gentler peptide formula, every other day to make the two last. This product is great if you already have long, full lashes and want to maintain.
Overall, my lashes honestly feel and look longer, lusher and thicker. When I put mascara on them, my eyes completely transform. My lashes have never looked like this. And for those who are eco-concious, these products are Vegan!
Volumizing Brow Filler
I really love the Brow Grooming Gel. It gives the brows a soft amount of color with added thickness thanks to the fibers. This is definitely great for someone who already has thicker brows and needs a little bit of grooming. I have very fine brows, so I would tend to add a bit of pencil or powder and then I would set with this product for long-lasting wear. The great thing about this is it has fibers to add fullness. I typically groom my brows down, brush against the grain to add texture and fibers to the under side of my hairs, and then groom back in place once more. It’s perfect for commercial auditions!!
Defining Brow Cream
You guys. This pomade is so long wearing! It’s really nice and gives a very sculpted shape to the brow, quite different from the grooming gel. I use this more often for evenings. I think I actually used it for a period piece audition because, not only does it give the brow shape, I personally felt like it gave my hairs a bit more thickness. It also has brow conditioning agents like Passion Flower Oil and Acai Palm Oil. They gifted me the darkest brown, which is a mix of a milk/dark chocolate shade, so I do add a bit of darker shadow to match my nearly black hair.
Liquid Eyeliner
This eyeliner is on point! Super jet black, long wearing, great felt tip, AND has the same peptide ingredientts it like the Enhancing Conditioner, you get the added bonus to help prevent breakage. So you get the benefits of a liquid liner and a lash serum in one! It isn’t to to be used to replace the serum however, but it’s nice to know when I wear it, that it’s gently conditioning my lashes to help them stay strong and grow.
Takeaway:
For things that I have booked, I tend to be fresh face and with minimal makeup, including a very light amount of mascara. Just having longer-looking lashes makes me feel more confident going in to auditions and working on set.
I don’t know if there’s any correlation… but of the four national car commercials I’ve been in for in the past month, I have been on avail for two. All with minimal makeup, but tons of mascara, because it makes my eyes pop!
I think taking care of your skin and lashes are so essential, as a woman and an actress. I honestly feel it’s a part of my job. If you are an actress, whatever your casting, having longer-looking lashes will make you feel so confident and beautiful. I definitely suggest Babe Lash as an addition to your self-care routine, it is absolutely worth it. I think you are your greatest investment, because when you look good, you feel good and you do good.
Thank you so much Babe Lash. This review is long over due, my sincerest apologies to Babe Lash. They generously gifted me these products, and I am so grateful. Thank you for partnering with me on this post! Xox
Please see these photos for reference. I include dates as well so you can see the appearance of growth! Here is what we started with on June 11, 2019. I’ve placed a face filter, but no change to lashes.
Now, we begin our lash transformation.
I hope you guys enjoy and found this helpful!! Let me know what you’d like to hear about next! Xox <3
