Soft Fall Glam and your Perfect Must-haves! →
Soft Fall Glam!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love me a burgundy eye shadow! That’s why I love the LORAC unzipped pallette, it’s full of soft shimmery pale golds with a few matte mauves and burgundies to blend it out. In my opinion: THE PERFECT FALL PALETTE! The golds aren’t too yellow, I prefer a cooler tone to my shadows more than anything and this helps me achieve it. I've used this palette on myself and tons of clients and they are always happy. It is universally flattering!! And, plums are amazing for just about every eye color! Brown, hazel, green, blue. The burgundy/plum undertone brings out the brightness in the eye and makes brown eyes just stand out, green eyes look like jade and blue eyes just look so light and clear! Who wouldn't want to wear plums all day?
SKIN
Hourglass Veil
You Know how I feel about Hourglass, It’s a love-LOVE relationship. I applied this with my damp beauty blender. You better dampen it; if you don’t, I’m judging you. Your makeup will go on more smoothly and you won't feel like you're pulling at your skin. Also, people don't seem to realize... a sponge literally soaks up any liquid. So, why wouldn't you dampen first and let it fill up with water before you apply a liquid foundation on it? It helps prevent it from literally soaking up all of your foundation. Call me crazy.... but it's just a theory.
Hourglass Hidden Concealer
You know I love this concealer! It gives me full coverage without being heavy. I apply to my circles, from the inner corner of my eyes all the way to the outer corner of my eye. Blend. BLEND IT.
Hourglass Ambient Powder
I like the Diffused Light just to lightly set. I use a little fan brush I just got form Morphe! I was FaceTimeing my sister the other day while getting ready, and I pulled out my fan brush and her jaw dropped. It’s one of my favorite past-times, teasing her. I think I know what to get her for Christmas.
CHEEKS
Maleficent Sculpting Powder
Any sculpting, controuing or shaping powder will do! I use this with a small dome shaped brush and carve it directly into my cheek bone.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish
So I wanted to be all sorts of a glow, and use the MAC Scene to be Seen Mineralize Skinfinish from their Divine Night holiday collection a few years ago. It’s a pretty cool, ruddy plum. I know it sounds crazy, but when it hits the skin it’s gorgeous. This particular shade was limited, but a similar dupe is MAC Gleeful blush! It has that similar ruddy plum look to it, and it’s a mineral blush, too, so you still get the same pretty glow! :) And for a bit less! ;)
Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder
This highlighting powder is spectacular! It’s the prettiest coolest pink and I just pop it right on to the top of my cheekbone and down the bridge of my nose. FLAWLESS. MAC Lightscapade is somewhat similar! They even have it in a holiday kit right now, too. Don’t be fooled by the pale blue and yellow mineral veins, they make it the perfect highlighter. It was legitimately my favorite highlighter for years. I'll never forget when it came out. DANSE. Post-Christmas collection. I don't remember what year, but everyone was like, "ew! It has blue and green in it, I don't want to look like chalk!" Oh, if only people would listen to me. I used it sparingly, like any good makeup hoarder would do, one swipe for special occasions, and then-- it became permanent. It was like the MAC Gods would see how long I would pray for it. And then they made it permanent. BUT NOW I'M OBSESSED WITH HOURGLASS INCANDESCENT POWDER. It's HEAVEN.
EYES
MAC Layin Low Paintpot
You need a base! A primer! Something! This is my go to. It acts like a concealer too on my lids, brightening it up. It has a soft peachy tint to it to warm up any darkness you may have. It grabs on to your shadow and holds on for dear life!
LORAC UNZIPPED PALETTE and MAC Shadows Saddle and Wedge
I am in LOVE with this palette! It’s my fall go to. I usually wear mattes but I just love the low-level pearl finish I get form this palette. Undercover on brow bone and inner corner, Unreal on the lid, MAC Wedge and Saddle in the crease with a hint of the palette’s Unbridled in the outer corner. Underneath my eye with a pencil brush, I applied MAC Saddle, the palette’s Unspoken and then a hint of the Unbridled in the outer lower corner of my eye. NO EYE LINER ON TOP. It keeps it soft and casual! You will love ALL OF THESE COLORS. One is more gold and the rest are like, flesh colored golds. SO PRETTY.
Mascara and Lashes!
Top it off with Better Than Sex Mascara and get any set of false lashes as close to your lash line as possible. I wore my handy dandy Wispy’s from Elegant Lashes. These are strictly optional, but definitely set the look off since I didn’t want any eye liner.

BACK TO THE STORY.
Brows
Hourglass Arch
My favorite Hourglass Arch! It keeps them full and soft and shaped thanks to the waxy formula. Not a hair out of place. :)
LIPS
MAC Whirl Lip Pencil
Thanks Kylie Jenner for selling this pencil out single handedly. When I worked at MAC, people would start… “I saw on Kylie’s Instagr…..” “WE’RE OUT.” Simple as that. Now you can find the holy grail at just about any MAC counter. It’s just a great soft pinky mauve! It’s a staple!
Wet’n’Wild Megalast Lipstick in Bare it All
It's such a pretty nude peach! It’s a nice creamy matte and it wears all day! This reminds me a lot of MAC Cherish! Pretty peachy tan without being too nude, too orange or too pink. I know, that doesn’t make sense but it sort of does for my makeup junkies.
I hope you run out and get some of these products. There are my favorite must-haves for fall! I know they run a higher price point, but I will make it a point to research and find some more drug-store options, too. I just think burgundy, plum, spiced oranges and pretty golds are the perfect fall palette that will go with literally anything you’re wearing. How cute is my blouse from Nordstrom?! It's the perfect off the shoulder top with little bow sleeves. I got the Burgundy Stem, it's a lot more burgundy than it looks on the website. Cute TopShop "Leigh" skinnies, BCBGeneration nude pumps and super cute hand-made druzy studs from a Poshmark boutique. Perfect fall look, right? And don't forget. Hair extentions. For fall? ALWAYS.
Let me know what you think and share your look, too! What are some of your fall favorites?
Xox,
Alyssa
